Hi!

I am Rotifer. I am a human-passing number-fetishist, a feminist-adjacent theymab, an anti-anti-anti-anti, an inveterate principle-generalizer, and a meddler in things I do not understand. This neocitie is a place for me to put my writing, both some of my fiction and my ill-considered opinions about things.

The big rectangles to your left lead to some of the Cardinal Rotifer Archive Sub-Indexes:

• The "Short Fiction" page is as it sounds, an index of stories and vignettes I have written that are small enough to comfortably fit on one page each.
• The "Division by Zero" page does not yet exist, but it will someday be dedicated to a rough reproduction of my halcyon attempts to define a multiplicative inverse of 0 at the age of ~11 or 12. All of my notes from that time are long since destroyed and I did not keep journals then or ever, but I expect I can reconstruct the basic principles (such as they are) and some of my reasoning in developing them.
• The "Nightmares" page is an index of short-story style retellings of those of my bad dreams which are interesting enough to be worth retelling.
• The "Miscellaneous" page indexes any other essays I choose to store here, most likely some of my better Tumblr posts and musing half-reviews of media I consume and enjoy.
• And head to "External Links" for some other places on the internet that I put things.

Queering the Afflicted-Comfortable Binary Since 199X

I used to spend a lot of time on Tumblr, once at yieldsfalsehoodwhenquined and more recently at karcatgirl-vantas. I made some friends and some people enjoyed reading what I wrote there, but it wasn't a healthy place for me to hang out. Spending idle time on Tumblr tended to make me meaner, less charitable, more dismissive, and likelier to get into unproductive fights. So as of 2024 I am taking a break from Tumblr, maybe forever; I will be shotgunning my short fiction, TV and movie musings, and other idle thoughts here on Neocities instead.

My pronouns are probably she/her. But maybe not! The first syllable of my name is pronounced to rhyme with boat rather than knot, at least when it is referring to me; I claim no expertise as to how it is pronounced when it is being used only as the name of the microscopic animal.
